Marble Mosaic Tile | Stone Series, Formats and Specification

Marble mosaic tile is a natural-stone mosaic cut from marble and assembled into sheets or shaped panels. Each piece carries the veining of the block it came from, so no two sheets are identical — which is the point when the design intent is a stone surface rather than a uniform tile field.

We source marble mosaic from mills with long-running stone production, and supply importers, distributors and project buyers with matched-lot material, sealing guidance and export documentation.

Why specifiers choose marble mosaic

  • Genuine stone surface. Visual depth that printed or glazed imitations do not reproduce.
  • Shaped formats. Waterjet and hexagon formats allow patterns that are impossible with rectangular tile.
  • Repairability. Individual pieces can be replaced if a matching lot is retained.
  • Design continuity. The same stone can be carried from floor to wall to vanity top.

Model numbering

Marble models are identified in the form SGS width × height × thickness mm — for example SGS25x25x4mm. Because shaped formats use different geometry, always confirm the dimension set for the specific model rather than inferring it from the model number alone.

Sealing and maintenance

Marble is calcium-based and reacts to acids. Honed and tumbled finishes are more porous than polished surfaces and should be impregnated with a penetrating sealer before grouting, then re-sealed on the interval recommended by the sealer manufacturer.

  • Use a neutral pH cleaner; acidic cleaners etch the surface permanently.
  • Blot spills rather than wiping, to avoid spreading acids into the joints.
  • In wet areas, confirm slip performance with the project specifier before selection.

Detailed guidance is in marble mosaic sealing and maintenance.

Shade and lot control

Natural stone varies between blocks. For projects where a uniform appearance is required, request a single-lot production run and retain a reserve of the same lot for future repair. We confirm lot availability before order acceptance.

Quality, testing and compliance

Production is supported by third-party testing. Certificates currently on file cover SGS material testing, RoHS compliance, ISO 9001 quality management and Intertek inspection. Test reports are issued per production batch.

Material data sheets — including water absorption, dimensional tolerance, DCOF, PEI rating and frost resistance where applicable — are supplied with each quotation so specifiers can verify performance against project requirements rather than rely on generic claims.
